We, Alex Kroke and Robert Milazzo, are professional photographers who stumbled upon some of the truths all dog owners know while we were working on a children’s book. It gave us the opportunity to work with- and get to know- puppies for the first time. (Alex grew up in a rural environment where dogs worked for a living and weren’t considered part of the household. I, on the other hand, had been raised as a ‘cat person’ and was quite comfortable with their subtler expressions of affection.) We recognized the magic that puppies possess and some research informed us of the astonishing health benefits they bestow. (The more I read, the more I think that I could have avoided my heart problems if I’d had a puppy!)
